Discover the face of 1930s Naples on this tour of the places from the TV series “Il Commissario Ricciardi” (Commissioner Ricciardi), a masterpiece based on the novels by Maurizio de Giovanni.
You will start from the beautiful Via Toledo with its artistic subway station, the main junction of the historic center of Naples, which on the occasion of the series has been rebuilt in its old version in the former NATO base of Bagnoli. Passing along Via Diaz and Via Cervantes, you will reach Piazza Municipio, the ancient largo del Castello, where you can admire the San Carlo Theater, the main set of the first episode of the series.
A little further on, you will reach the majestic Piazza del Plebiscito, brought back in the 1930s for the filming and which has become the symbol of the series. The tour will end at the Gran Caffè Gambrinus, an elegant historical café of the city. Here is the table reserved for the Commissioner himself, where Ricciardi takes a coffee break during his investigations. A tribute to the TV series that absolutely could not be missed.
Archaeologist Luigia Salino, tired of the classic guided tours, founded the association Insolitaguida in 2008. Collaborating with archaeologists, historians and architects, she promotes Neapolitan culture in a different way with tours that go beyond art, telling legends, traditions, colors and flavors, everything that makes Naples so special.
