Cilento is one of the most beautiful and evocative areas of Campania. With its beaches and centuries-old forests, this area offers many attractions for the tourists who flock to it every year. To learn about its traditions, there is nothing better than a nice excursion to one of the many Cilento farmhouses.

La Cilento Terrace is a family-owned farm located in Trentinara, a small and beautiful village in the province of Salerno. The facility specializes in goat breeding and goat cheese production. In fact, in addition to the farmhouse here you can find a shop where you can buy precisely cheese, cold cuts (sausage, soppressata, crudo, bacon) and much more.

The experience begins with the visit to the farm's stables in the company of a guide and here you will be able to watch the milking and milk processing stage. In addition, you will see how goats eat and everything about their diet will be explained. This will be followed by a tasting of typical Cilento products and you will eat in a wonderful green space.

The tasting menu includes a cutting board with a variety of goat cheeses, locally produced cold cuts, side dishes in oil, jams with honey and pizza fritta cilentana, a specialty that is first fried and then baked with tomato, basil and goat cheese. To drink, however, there are excellent Cilento wines, including rosé white, Massini, San Salvatore Ceraso, and many other bottles from local wineries.

How to get to Meta by car

From Piazza Garibaldi move onto Corso Lucci and Via Ferraris to enter the A3. Advance for 50 km before entering the A2/E45. After 20 km take the exit for Battipaglia. Continue on SS 18 Tirrena Inferiore for 15 km and take the exit for Capaccio Paestum. Turn into Via Ponte Marmoreo and continue on Via Michele, Corso Carducci, Via Sabia, Via Scorzello and Via Corsole. Then turn right onto Via Roma and then left onto Via Trieste. Finally, turn left onto Via Panoramica XII Luglio.
