Known to most people as the city of witches, Benevento is a town rich in history and culture. Initially called Maloenton by the Samnites, in Latin Maleventum, when it was conquered by the Romans it was renamed Beneventum, to replace the old name considered fatal. Near the ancient Maleventum we also find Sant'Agata de' Goti, one of the most beautiful villages in the area and the Lake of Telese, not far from the baths of the same name.
