You absolutely must pass for Procida even if you haven’t seen The Postman! The beach of Pozzo Vecchio, renamed "La Spiaggia del Postino"(in English "The Postman's beach"), was the scene of this masterpiece together with the village of Marina Corricella. The island, chosen by Massimo Troisi and Micheal Radford, is however not known only for being the set of this timeless film. Procida is an island rich in traditions, with villages with colorful houses, typical taverns that fry fresh fish and with the fragrance of citrus juice in the kiosks. There are many buildings to see, for example in the village of Terra Murata we find Palazzo d'Avalos, the Monastery of Santa Margherita and the Sanctuary Santa Maria delle Grazie. Reach Procida is simple, full of wonderful beaches with crystal clear water, such as that of Chiaia and the beach of Chiaiolella, the island is well connected by ferry and hydrofoils with the island of Ischia and with the cities of Naples and Pozzuoli.
