The filming of Sea Out are set at the Navy of the city of Naples, which was just the ideal place to reconstruct all the scenarios of the fiction.

Often and often the boys engage in outdoor activities, and in these scenes you can see in the background, not only the beautiful harbor of Naples but also the Angevin Male.

Despite some scenes shot in Nisida itself, thepenitentiary institution Neapolitan children's best known, is not mentioned in the fiction, although the inspiration from the prison by Nisida.

Life outside of prison

Within the juvenile prison, the boys' lives intersect, coming to form bonds of friendship or conversely of rivalry. Each of them is there for a specific reason, which is revealed to viewers through flashbacks, taking them back to the time when the misdeed occurred that led the character in question to thepenitentiary institution.

Each protagonist, for one reason or another, has a story of his or her own with a side dish of accidents, revenge, blood ties of underworld origin, or surprisingly, even the will itself, there being a protagonist who in order to escape from her life outside the prison, he really decides to get arrested.

What, then, are the locations of these flashbacks? Certainly one place taken up many times is the station of Montesanto, where we often saw both Commander Maximus and Naditza. Another place is the Healthcare, as well as theBotanical Garden, as well as Mazzini Square and the Management Center. Finally, the filming also touched on places such as the historical center of Naples, Umberto Gallery and finally the magnificent Toledo station.

The island from which the series is inspired: Nisida

As we have previously made clear, the series is inspired by the juvenile prison by Nisida. Why not learn more about this place with a tour?

Starting from Naples, you need to take the Metro Line 2, and stop at Cavalleggeri Aosta, and then you need to take the C1 bus, which stops at Coroglio- Science City.

The island of Nisida is part of the neighborhood of Bagnoli to Naples and is located at the far end of the hill of Posillipo.

The juvenile prison of the island was opened in 1934, and continues to function today and in fact houses about 60 boys, with the goal of reforming them and reintegrating them into society through workshop and support activities.

The island of Nisida is not accessible, but it is possible to visit the park around it, thanks to guided tours through which to discover the natural beauty that this place offers.

Undoubtedly, it is also very suggestive of the stories associated with this island. Before being a penal institution, the island of Nisida was a lazaret, then a Bourbon lifer, a penal bath, and only later a penitentiary institution. Also, during Roman times, Lucius Licinius Lucullus became the owner of this island, which was therefore known at the time for the festivals celebrated there.

Finally, according to legend, the place where the famous temptress sirens tried to bewitch Ulysses, is located right between Nisida and Capri.

What are you waiting for?
