It was from the years of Diego Armando Maradona who in Naples expected the winning of the tricolor to relive the glories of yesteryear. It is still uncertain on what date the mathematical certainty of winning the Scudetto can be had, but the wide lead seems reassuring and Naples has already begun to turn blue.

Preparations to celebrate the scudetto in the city

With a nearly 20-point lead over its pursuers, Napoli is almost on the verge of winning its third Scudetto in history, and fans are ready to kick off the festivities. In fact, for weeks now the city's various neighborhoods have been buzzing and have begun hanging flags, banners, photos and streamers to celebrate the long-awaited event.

For this reason, the City Council is working to organize two celebrations: the spontaneous one on the day of the arithmetic certainty of the title and the official one when the championship is over. Several meetings have been held in the last few days in the Prefecture in Naples, with a technical table bringing together Prefect Palomba, Quaestor Giuliano, President De Laurentiis, Security Councillor De Jesu and, of course, Mayor Manfredi.

The basic idea is to have a big folk festival in Plebiscite Square, to be combined with other events scattered among the various neighborhoods of Naples to involve the entire citizenry. The important goal is to put people's safety first, without taking any risks. In fact, thousands will take to the streets for the celebrations, and many fans will also come from the province.

However, the alleged party in Plebiscite Square has become a source of discussion as the mayor allegedly proposed an event at limited number, which has made many Neapolitans turn up their noses. The debate on this issue is still ongoing, but there will be time to talk about it since the official celebrations will not take place until June, when Serie A will have officially awarded the title.

The blue invasion has already begun

Putting aside the traditional superstition, for the past few weeks Neapolitan fans have already begun decorating alleys, balconies, terraces, buildings and stores with banners, rosettes, cardboard silhouettes and colorful threads.

The Napoli-mania, however, has become overwhelming, and for some time pastry shops, bakeries, bars and restaurants have been preparing cakes, dishes, eggs and delicacies that are blue in color or that evoke the bomber's famous mask Osimhen. How can we not remember the legendary "Osimhen cake" baked by a bakery in Naples that went viral on social media as it reproduced the striker's face.

The imagination of the Neapolitans is emblematic, and it is no coincidence that blue Easter eggs, blue pizzas, coffee and chocolate products also dedicated to Osimhen have appeared. Around Naples, on the other hand, murals dedicated to soccer players have multiplied, mostly drawn in the Quartieri Spagnoli and in some outlying areas of Naples.

All this, however, is only a first taste of the love that the Neapolitan capital will shower on the team, and to enjoy the spectacle in all its glory, one only has to wait until the end of the championship to celebrate Napoli as it deserves.

Naples is already ready to celebrate its third and highly anticipated Scudetto.
