The excursion starts in the morning at 7:30 a.m. from the port, and then moves to the Colosseum, the massive amphitheater that in Roman times hosted games between gladiators and could hold about 50,000 spectators. How to get there

How to reach the meeting point by car

Starting from Piazza Garibaldi in Naples, to reach the port of Civitavecchia by car, you need to get on the A3/E45 towards Rome and continue on the A1 Autostrada del Sole. Just before Rome, take the Roma Nord exit and follow the signs for the A12/E80 Civitavecchia. Continue on the A12 to the Civitavecchia Porto exit and then follow signs for Largo della Pace, the main entrance to the port, where the cruise and ferry terminals are also located. The total distance is about 330 kilometers and the average travel time is about three and a half hours, depending on traffic.

How to reach the meeting point by public transportation

For those traveling by public transportation, high-speed trains such as Frecciarossa and Italo to Roma Termini depart from Naples Centrale (Piazza Garibaldi), taking about one hour and ten minutes. Alternatively, you can choose an Intercity, which takes about two hours and ten minutes. Once at Roma Termini, you take a direct regional train to Civitavecchia, with a journey time of about one hour and ten minutes. From Civitavecchia station, you can walk to the port in about twenty minutes or use the free "Port Link" shuttle, which regularly connects the station to the Largo della Pace terminal.
