If you want to get to know one of the most picturesque places in Campania, don't miss this fantastic tour to Sant'Agata dei Goti, a small town in the province of Benevento that attracts thousands of tourists every year for the beauty of its landscapes and its rich historical and artistic heritage.
Nestled in the heart of Sannio, Sant'Agata de' Goti lies in the Caudina Valley and more precisely at the foot of Mount Taburno, and since 2012 it has been included in the circuit of The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy. Originally named Saticula by the Samnites, the town sits on a tufa spur and its medieval appearance is still visible today.
In its historic center you can admire narrow stone alleys and timeless centuries-old churches. Here you can see the Church of the Annunziata, recognizable by its splendid marble portal and wooden doorway. Next you will also see the Church of San Menna and the Cathedral of the Assumption, or Duomo di Sant'Agata de' Goti. There will also be time to observe several viewpoints, including the Bridge over the Martorano, from which there is a spectacular view of the historic center.
After this walk among the city's main sights, a stop is planned at the Mustilli winery. It is a fabulous historic home whose cellars are dug into the tuff up to 16 meters deep.
During the underground guided tour you will be told about the history of the Mustilli family and the tradition of Sannio wines. In addition, you will have a tasting with a glass of wine and typical local products. What are you waiting for? Book your ticket!
