About this tour

This is a guided tour at a major dairy in Vico Equense which has been making high-quality cheeses since 1920. The facility is located at the foot of Mount Faito, in the village of San Salvatore 350 meters above sea level. Here, time seems to stand still, and all products are processed with local 0-kilometer milk.

During the event you will be able to make a real masterclass lasting 50 minutes, during which you will be told about the process of curdling and preparing fior di latte, a fresh, soft, stringy cheese that is now widely used in Neapolitan and southern Italian cuisine.

Following this, you will be treated to a nice tasting of typical products of the place, including local cured meats, freshly made fior di latte, various cheeses, and a glass of wine. What are you waiting for?

How to get there

How to reach the meeting point by car

From Piazza Garibaldi move onto Corso Lucci and Via Ferraris to take the A3. After 20 km take the exit for Castellammare di Stabia. Continue on SS145 for 15 km to the exit for Vico Equense. Continue on Corso Filangieri, Viale della Rimembranza and Via S. Ciro. Then advance on Via Santa Sofia, Via S. Francesco and Via Santa Maria a Cavallo. Finally, turn left onto Via Arvitiello.

How to reach the meeting point by public transportation

From Naples Central Station take the Sorrento line of the Circumvesuviana and get off at the Vico Equense stop. Walk to Via S. Ciro and take bus 009 to Via Bosco. Continue on foot on Via Piana di Semmana, Via Avellino and Via Arvitiello.
