About this activity

A timeless love, a passion that continues to thrill generations, lives again within the ancient walls of Naples with a new theatrical production. The celebrated drama "Romeo and Juliet" returns to the stage, in an unforgettable musical comedy designed for a discerning and curious school audience.

This timeless Shakespearean masterpiece, has already won thousands of spectators. After the great success of summer 2024, the company is reviving the play for schools from all over Italy, offering students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of classical theater.

"Romeo and Juliet" is more than just a tragedy: is the quintessential love story, the one that has spanned the centuries becoming a symbol of thwarted love and sacrifice. The feud between the Montague and Capulet families, made immortal by William Shakespeare, drives the two protagonists to defy everything and everyone in order to love each other. A timeless drama that still captivates today with its emotional intensity and universality.

Salvatore Vangone's original music, Monica Caruso's engaging choreography and Maria Pennacchio's evocative costumes recreate the atmosphere of the Renaissance, transporting the audience directly to Shakespeare's time. Every line, every gesture, every musical note contributes to an immersive theatrical experience that captures the attention of young and old alike.

Behind the scenes, Domenico Maria Corrado's direction skillfully guides the actors, allowing them to explore the deep emotions of the characters and convey to the audience the full force of a story about love, hate, destiny and rebellion. Mario Paolucci's sets complete the picture, offering a scenography that amplifies the beauty of the performances.

With this new staging, "Romeo and Juliet" not only honors its status as a timeless classic, but also demonstrates how universal stories can continue to speak to new generations. An unmissable opportunity to discover or rediscover a work that has marked the history of theater and continues to excite and inspire.

    A real show

I saw Romeo and Juliet at the San Lorenzo with a group of friends and we had a great time. The play was faithful to the original text, but with some interesting reinterpretations. The direction gave a modern twist to the tragedy, making it more usable for contemporary audiences. The actors were good, especially the leads, who were able to embody their roles with great conviction. The atmospheric setting of the Cloister made the atmosphere even more magical.
