Peschici is a small town on the northern coast of the Gargano and is one of Puglia's most popular destinations as it offers the right mix of history, nature and good food. In the province of Foggia, it is just 15 km from Vieste and belongs to the Gargano National Park.
In the typically Mediterranean historic center of Peschici, we have the imposing Norman Castle, built by the Normans around the year 1000, and the Torre del Ponte, the gateway to the oldest part of town. The picturesque Apulian village is also rich in religious buildings, such as the Abbey of Santa Maria di Calena and the Sanctuary of the Madonna of Loreto.
From the belvedere present in the town center there is a fantastic view toward the coast and the watchtowers. In the direction of Vieste, then, you can also catch a glimpse of the trabucchi, typical wooden constructions suspended over the sea, in the past used for fishing. Peschici is also an important seaside resort, and the very beach of Marina is the ideal place for surfers and families with children. Other very charming beaches are La Cala, San Nicola, Procinisco, Cala del Turco and Finale.
