A small town in the province of Foggia, Vieste represents the easternmost point of the Gargano and is an enchanting location for its wonderful sea and a historic center made up of clubs and craft stores. Located in the Gargano National Park, it is halfway between Peschici and Mattinata.
The town has an historic center of medieval origin, consisting of a dense network of narrow streets and houses marked by time, with small souvenir stores and workshops where you can buy pottery and handicrafts. In the old town is the Swabian Castle wanted by Frederick II, which dominates the area from above. Equally fascinating is the Cathedral of the Assumption, a church in full Romanesque style. Instead, from Piazzetta Petrone you can reach a fantastic viewpoint over the coast.
The pearl of the Gargano, Vieste offers beautiful sandy beaches with crystal clear water. In fact, the town stands on a promontory that bisects the Gargano coast, and among the best beaches we have Castello beach, Pipistrelli beach, San Felice beach and Vignanotica beach. The coastline also has as many as 26 sea caves, such as the Sirens, Smeralda and Tavolozza caves, all of which can be visited by diving or by boat.
