Vieste

Vieste

A small village in the province of Foggia, Vieste represents the easternmost point of the Gargano and is an enchanting location for its wonderful sea and a historic center made up of clubs and artisan shops. Located in the Gargano National Park, it is halfway between Peschici and Mattinata. The city has a historic center of medieval origin, made up of a dense network of narrow streets and houses marked by time, with small souvenir shops and shops where you can buy ceramics and handicraft products. In the ancient village there is the Swabian Castle built by Frederick II which dominates the area from above. Equally fascinating is the Cathedral of the Assumption, a church in full Romanesque style. Instead, from Piazzetta Petrone you can reach a fantastic viewpoint on the coast. Pearl of the Gargano, Vieste offers beautiful sandy beaches with clear, crystalline water. In fact, the town stands on a promontory that divides the Gargano coast in two and among the best beaches we have Castello beach, Pipistrelli beach, San Felice beach and Vignanotica beach. The coast also has 26 sea caves, such as the Sirene, Smeralda and Tavolozza caves, all of which can be visited by diving or by boat.
