About this tour

Want to immerse yourself in the culture and ancient traditions of Puglia? Then purchase tickets for this fantastic guided tour inside the wonderful Alta Murgia National Park. In this pristine oasis you can learn about the history of a beautiful area and its customs in the field of pastoralism and agriculture.

The appointment is at 09:30 in winter time while at 17:00 in summer time, at the Jazzo Corte Cicero, near Altamura. This is a silvopastoral farm that popularizes the conservation of an animal like the wolf and the breeding of Altamura sheep, Murgese horses and Syrian goats. Here you can take a walk through the Mena Forest and you will be told the story of the plants in the forest.

Then you will learn about the Allupo project on wolf conservation and visit the farm workshops to see how cheese is made. Next, you will take part in an ancient crafts workshop during which you will be taught how to build dry stone walls and around 1 p.m. in the winter period and 8 p.m. in the summer/spring period, you will be offered a rich aperitif based on food and wine products from the area.

How to reach the meeting point by car

From Piazza Garibaldi in Naples take Corso Lucci and Via Ferraris to enter the A3. After 3 km take the exit for A1/E45 and enter the A16/E842. Continue for 127 km and take the exit for Candela. After 200 meters turn onto SP95 and into SS655. After 500 meters advance on SP168 for 7 km and continue on SP202 for 10 km. After another 3 km, proceed on SP159 for 11 km and turn right to Jazzo Corte Cicero.
