About this tour

The second most populous city in Apulia, Taranto is a charming town on the Ionian Sea, also known as City of the two seas for its location straddling the inlets of the Mar Grande and the Mar Piccolo. In fact, Taranto is geographically divided into 3 parts, but its beating heart is represented by the old City, located on an island connected to the mainland by a stone bridge leading to the industrial district and Borgo Umbertino.
Founded in the 8th century B.C. by the Spartans as the Taras, the Apulian town was an important colony of Magna Graecia, and traces of this glorious past can still be seen today. Thanks to this exclusive private tour you can experience an exciting itinerary in the Borgo Nuovo.
In the company of an experienced tour guide and with the help of videos, photos and testimonials, you will have the opportunity to see the Swing Bridge, the Roman remains of Garibaldi Square and the Vittorio Emanuele III waterfront. Then you will be able to admire the Carmine Church, the War Memorial, the Mariner's Monument, Punta Penna Pizzone Bridge, the Co-cathedral and the most beautiful contemporary works of the Beni Stabili Complex.
For all this and more, all you have to do is reserve your spot for this fantastic activity among the wonders of Taranto!
