The suggestive Convent of St. Francis, in the heart of Sorrento, opens its doors to a theatrical tour dedicated to the life, works and extraordinary inventions of the Genius of Mankind, Leonardo da Vinci.

Guiding visitors on this fascinating journey is Leonardo himself, played by a costumed actor, who, in an empathetic, engaging, and humorous tone, takes the audience on a discovery of the world of the great renaissance genius, making the visit a real "show."

The setting is embellished by the Leonardesque machines, faithfully reproduced by Maestro Mario Paolucci from original drawings by Leonardo. Made both to scale and life-size, they are fully functional and can be used by the public. Completing the display are numerous reproductions of the paintings, of the codes and of the projects artist's most famous.

During the visit, it is possible to take a close look at several ingenious inventions: from flying machines, such as the ancestor of the parachute, to the bicycle, the hydraulic saw, and many others. All models are interactive, to offer an intense sensory and cognitive experience, capable of combining emotion and knowledge. The show exhibition was created with the intention of popularizing and enhancing the work of Leonardo da Vinci, an eclectic and visionary artist who in his life was a painter, architect, scientist, inventor, sculptor, stage designer, and musician. To date the theatrical visit has already been successfully presented in cities such as Rome, Florence, Milan, Matera, Salerno, Abu Dhabi, Sydney and Wenzhou and continues to enchant audiences of all ages with the timeless magic of Leonardo da Vinci.

How to reach the meeting point by car

From Garibaldi station take Corso Lucci, Via Ferraris and take the A3. After 3 km enter the E45, and after 20 km take the exit for Castellammare di Stabia. Continue on the SS145 for 20 km and then enter Corso Italia. Then drive along Corso Crawford, Via Cocumella, Via Califano, Via Correale and Piazza Tasso. Finally, turn right onto Via de Maio and continue straight on Via S. Francesco to Piazza Francesco Saverio Gargiulo.

How to reach the meeting point by public transportation

From Garibaldi station take the Naples-Sorrento line of the circumvesuviana and get off at the Sorrento stop. Continue walking on Via Marziale, Corso Italia, Via de Maio and Via San Francesco to Piazza Francesco Saverio Gargiulo.
