An unmissable tour that will allow you to discover two of the most visited destinations in Campania: Pompeii and Sorrento, with the optional possibility of starting the day with a city tour by Naples.
A comfortable bus will pick you up at your hotel in Naples: get on board, meet your guide and begin the journey to the eternal city. During the journey, a leap back in time will take you to 79 AD, when the devastating eruption of Vesuvius completely razed Pompeii, Herculaneum and the nearby cities to the ground. Before reaching the excavations you will pass by bus near the mighty volcano that watches over Naples.
You will have the opportunity to discover the daily life and habits of citizens of the imperial era, trying to imagine firsthand the sensations they felt during those moments of terror. You will walk through the ancient streets of the city for two hours, and the guide will show you the most evocative places in the archaeological site, such as the Forum, the Baths, the Lupanare, the Greek theater and the plaster casts of the victims found in the Garden of the Fugitives.
At this point a pause cannot be missed pizza before continuing the day in Sorrento. The view that awaits you along the route is enchanting and colourful: you will be able to admire the imposing medieval castle from which it takes its name Castellammare di Stabia, the small beaches of Vico Equense and Seiano and the vegetation typically Mediterranean that characterizes these areas giving it a touch of liveliness.
You will support at Meta of Sorrento to enjoy the breathtaking view that the bay overlooks. Take some souvenir photos, it's really worth it! Of course, you will have some time to walk around the famous downtown of Sorrento, among the characteristic alleys dotted with artisan workshops and shops. The guide will show you the most well-known places, including the famous Municipal Villa: this is one of the most beautiful panoramic points of the city because the view extends from Gulf until Punta Campanella and theisland by Capri.
This day comes to an end with this last enchanting stop before returning to Naples.
Before visiting Pompeii and Sorrento you will devote yourself to the beauty of our Parthenope. The first stop will be the historic center, in fact you will have the opportunity to visit the Cathedral of Naples and the Treasure Chapel, where you will listen to the fascinating story of the miracle of San Gennaro, so every year on the day of Patron Saint awaits with faith and hope the liquefaction of his blood. From here you will enter the adjacent Basilica of Santa Restituta, the oldest cathedral church in the city, now the chapel of the current Cathedral.
Continue the morning tour by passing through the Angevin Male before the second stop at Posillipo, at the magnificent terrace of the church by St. Anthony to enjoy the view breathtaking on the Gulf of Naples.
It crosses the most beautiful square in Naples, Plebiscite Square; just across the square is the famous Royal Palace, formerly known for being the city's gateway to the sea, also home to the Bourbon kings in the 18th and 19th centuries. From here you will ascend to the famous Umberto I Gallery From which to observe the outside of the neighbor San Carlo Theater.
At this point all that remains is to re-board your coach and relax on the short tour along the coast continuing the day in Pompeii and Sorrento.
