Discover the places in Naples de The brilliant friend
Are you ready to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the series The brilliant friend and rediscover the places that served as the backdrop for Lila and Lenù's story? A journey through the streets of Naples will take you to the most iconic sets of the series, where the characters experienced their adventures amidst love, friendships and hardships.
The tour starts from the ancient Largo Mercatello, today Dante Square, one of the most important squares in the historical center of Naples. Here you will find the Vittorio Emanuele II National Boarding School, former convent of St. Sebastian, which in the series becomes a key place in Story of those who flee and those who stay. Many scenes in the third season take place within the very walls of this educational institution, which Elena attends.
Continuing on, we pass through Port'Alba, famous for its historic bookstores. In this area, the ancient Mezzocannone, where in the second season, History of the new surname, Elena, now a teenager, finds employment in a bookstore. Here we can relive the moments when the protagonist begins to take her first steps into the world of culture and literature.
Walking along Toledo Street, one of the main streets of the historic center and the beating heart of Neapolitan shopping, we arrive at the magnificent Plebiscite Square. It is in this setting that a memorable scene takes place: Lenuccia, Lila, Rino and Pasquale meet an upper middle-class Neapolitan couple. After a heated exchange of jokes and insults, a brawl ensues, marking one of the most intense moments of the series.
Continuing along the route, we come to Via Chiaia, perfect for a shopping break. Nearby, Martyrs' Square frames another iconic location in the series. In the nearby via Calabritto is located the Mario Valentino, which in fiction has become the Solara Footwear Factory, where Lila's creations were displayed and admired.
The tour ends at a lovely place: Caracciolo Street, on the Mergellina waterfront. This is where Lila's wedding takes place, with the striking backdrop of the sea of Naples making the scene even more exciting.
