About this tour

The Archaeological Excavations of Pompeii is one of the main tourist sites in Campania. Every year thousands of tourists arrive from all over the world who look forward to admiring the remains of the ancient city buried by the eruption of 79 AD. To see this evocative place we offer you a guided tour of the ruins of Pompeii.

The hike kicks off at 8:00 am at the meeting point in Sorrento. From here you will be picked up by a minivan to reach Pompeii along with the specialized guide. You may not know it, but the ruins cover an area of 440,000 square meters, and thanks to our guide you can learn about the most important points of the site to understand how the Romans once lived.

The tour will last about 2 hours, and once it is over you will reach a local vineyard on the slopes of Vesuvius to taste a local wine and enjoy a light lunch based on traditional Neapolitan dishes. After the meal is concluded, you will return to the meeting point in Sorrento in the early afternoon.

How to get there

How to reach the meeting point by car

From Piazza Garibaldi move onto Corso Lucci and Via Ferraris to take the A3. After 22 km take the exit for Castellammare di Stabia and continue on SS145 for another 10 km. Then turn onto Via Cavone and Via dei Platani, and then take Via Mortora and Corso Italia.

How to reach the meeting point by public transportation

From Naples Central Station take the Sorrento Line of the Circumvesuviana and get off at the Sorrento stop. Continue walking on Piazza de Curtis, Via de Curtis and Corso Italia.
