Visit Puteoli Sacra, in the heart of Pozzuoli's Rione Terra, is an experience that goes beyond a simple cultural visit: it is a journey into the soul of an area reborn through art, faith and hope.
The route begins with the majestic Cathedral of Pozzuoli, a place that tells centuries of history and spirituality. The cathedral rose on an ancient Roman Capitolium, a tuff temple dating back to Greek or Samnite times, dedicated to the Capitoline Triad - Jupiter, Juno and Minerva. Today, this fusion of Christian sacredness and ancient paganism gives rise to a unique atmosphere suspended in time.
Thanks to the Puteoli Sacra project, visitors can admire extraordinary works of art, including those of the famous painter Artemisia Gentileschi. The cathedral is one of the very rare examples of a Christian sacred space decorated by a woman, a powerful symbol of art and redemption.
Within the Diocesan Museum, the experience continues among artistic artifacts and testimonies, with a special mention for the lower room, where artifacts made by the children of the Regina Pacis Cooperative, under the project CONCRETE IDEA.. Objects that tell of another form of beauty: that which comes from personal rebirth and craftsmanship.
To make the visit even more special, Puteoli Sacra offers. impromptu events, artistic performances and cultural initiatives that transform each experience into something unrepeatable.
