About this activity

Between Punta Serra and the hill of Santa Margherita Vecchia, Chiaiolella, also known as Ciracciello, with its characteristic little harbor, is one of Procida's busiest shorelines, once a hunting destination for the Bourbons.

Why visit Marina di Chiaiolella

Marina di Chiaiolella, with its beach, is overlooked by the hill of Santa Margherita and enjoys a view of an ancient fishing village with colorful little houses. Walk a little further on to reach Ciraccio beach, divided from Chiaiolella by two tuff stacks, detached from the rocky ridge that previously separated the two beaches. The sun shines here all day long, and with its shallow waters it is an ideal place for a relaxing day. In the afternoon it is possible for the sea to get a little rough because of the mistral, but Chiaiolella still retains its charm. Going up to Santa Margherita it is possible to admire theislet of Vivara and theisland of Ischia. Chiaiolella is perfect if you are looking for a romantic place, with restaurants and bars overlooking the sea, allowing you to enjoy even in the evening hours the magic of these places. Also within walking distance from the beach are the Church of St. Joseph, built in 1836, the characteristic colorful houses typical of fishermen and the Cristoforo Colombo Promenade.

Curiosity about Marina di Chiaiolella

Chiaiolella beach is also called Ciracciello beach, from the larger Ciraccio beach that lies next to it. Much of the surface is free beach but there is also the possibility of renting umbrellas. It is one of the most popular destinations on the island of Procida with its well-equipped marina, full of hotels and restaurants. Chiaiolella means small beach, "spiaggiolella."
