Procida became a tourist destination especially from the 1950s onward, thanks to Elsa Morante's book L'isola di Arturo. Later, it was also the location for major films such as Troisi's Il Postino and The Talented Mr. Ripley.

The boat tour to Procida provides you with the 10-meter-long boat Emy, built in 1949. You will be able to depart from the port of Marechiaro in the direction of Procida, accompanied by a deckhand in charge of transportation. The first stop is at Coricella Bay, where people can take a bath, relax and take something with them for an aperitif.

After an hour and a half has elapsed, continue to the port of Coricella, and here you will have another hour and a half to have lunch and take a walking tour of the island. How to reach the meeting point by car

From Piazza Garibaldi take Corso Umberto I and Via Depretis towards Piazza Municipio. Take Via Acton, the Tunnel della Vittoria, Via Caracciolo, Viale Dohrn and Viale Gramsci towards Via Mergellina. Follow Via Mergellina until the entrance to Via Posillipo, where Largo Sermoneta is located. To get to Marechiaro from Piazza Garibaldi reach Mergellina and continue along Via Posillipo for 3 km, until entering Via Marechiaro.

How to reach the meeting point by public transportation

From Piazza Garibaldi take underground line 2 and get off at the Mergellina stop. From here continue on foot towards Piazza Sannazzaro and take Via Mergellina. Continue until the beginning of Via Posillipo to find Largo Sermoneta. Those who prefer Marechiaro as a meeting point must take bus 151 and get off at the Bruno-Sannazzaro stop. From here take bus 140 and get off at the Santo Strato-Boccaccio stop. Continue on foot on Via Posillipo-Via Santo Strato towards Via Ricciardi and Via Alfano Primo to arrive at Via Marechiaro.
