In Naples the New Year's Eve in the square is a heartfelt and engaging experience that draws thousands of people from all over the province each year. The centerpiece of the festivities is almost always Plebiscite Square, where the big free New Year's Eve concert is organized. From the evening, the square fills with people of all ages, ready to wait for midnight amid live music, famous guests and an atmosphere charged with energy. The concert accompanies the audience until the countdown and toast, transforming one of the city's landmarks into a true collective celebration.

The musical performance will be held on the evening of December 31 starting at 9 p.m. and will continue until the early hours of Jan. 1. Leading Italian artists will perform on the large stage set up in the square, with Elodie as the main protagonist of the evening. With her on stage are expected other big names such as. Serena Brancale, Lda, Sal Da Vinci and Gigi Finizio. The program is curated artistically by Gianni Simioli and aims to accompany the audience into the new year with lots of live music.

After midnight, the festivities do not stop. In fact, a great many people move to the Waterfront Caracciolo which becomes one long open-air party. Between Piazza Vittoria, Via Partenope and the Rotonda Diaz there will be DJ sets, music and dancing, with the sea and Vesuvius in the background. The most anticipated name is that of Claudio Cecchetto, talent scout, producer and DJ who has made entire generations dance.

Cecchetto will be at the console after midnight for a return to the music of street parties, featuring records that have made musical history in Italy. Joining Cecchetto will be Janice Robinson, Nostalgia '90s, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Gigi Soriani, DJ Spen, Simone Cavagnuolo, John D'Apuleo, Gianluca Fiore and Paul and Maximus General.

To ensure the smooth running of the events, the municipality has activated a major security arrangements, and the streets will be manned by law enforcement officers to prevent accidents. Transportation facilities will also be active almost all night long to allow people to move freely around the city.

New Year's Eve in Procida and Ischia

A Procida New Year's Eve has a flavor all its own as it is not a large metropolis, but a charming and picturesque island in the Gulf of Naples, where the party is experienced with a mix of music, entertainment and beautiful sea views that make the night of Dec. 31 special. Traditionally, the heart of New Year's Eve celebrations on Procida is Marina Grande, the island's liveliest port and center. Here, as in previous years, events are organized on the evening of December 31 with live music and shows for all ages. After the midnight toast there are often DJ sets and silent disco to keep the party going well into the night.

Also at Ischia, the green island in the Gulf of Naples, New Year's Eve is a much-awaited time for residents. Like every year, much of Ischia's nightlife meets in Ancient Royal Square around 10 p.m. for the usual Vigil in the Square. Between music and dance, everyone will wait together for midnight. New this year is the New Year's Eve Grand Vigil which will take place in Forio and will feature DJ Giorgio Prezioso of Radio DeeJay.
