On Sunday, December 7, 2025, the first Sunday of the month, the initiative returns. "Sunday at the Museum", with the free opening of state museums in Naples and Campania. The event offers free admission to all state monuments, museums, galleries, archaeological excavations, parks and monumental gardens, allowing citizens and tourists to discover the region's rich cultural heritage for free.
State museums and beyond: useful tips
Free admission applies to all state museums, but it is always advisable to check the official websites of individual museums for any updates or restrictions. Some temporary exhibitions may not be included in the initiative and access may be subject to capacity limits, so it is advisable to arrive early.
Even some non-state museums in Naples are participating in the initiative:
- Galleries of Italy, new home of Palazzo Piacentini on Via Toledo, with free admission and the extraordinary collections, including Caravaggio's last work. Also on view during this period is the exhibition "Women in Spanish Naples. Another Seventeenth Century.".
- Mother Museum - Donnaregina Museum of Contemporary Art in Naples, open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (last admission one hour before closing).
