About this tour

Those who come to Apulia cannot fail to learn how to dance the pizzica, the traditional Apulian folk dance spread mainly among the provinces of Bari, Taranto, Lecce and Brindisi. Belonging to the tarantella family, this traditional dance is a time of great unity and sociability for young and old alike.

You will be treated to a sunset pizzica lesson inside a beautiful garden. You will be led by an experienced dance teacher, accompanied by a storyteller. During the activity you will dance barefoot on wide green carpets underneath centuries-old olive trees. Women will be provided with a dress with typical pizzica skirts, along with scarves, ribbons and tambourines. Men, however, will only be provided with accessories and musical instruments.

At the end of the pizzica lesson, a tasting of local gourmet products, including olives, cherry tomatoes, watermelon, cheese, arugula, and drinks of your choice.

How to reach the meeting point by car

From Brindisi station, take Corso Umberto I and Via Cristoforo Colombo. Turn right and enter Via Provinciale S. Vito. Continue for 2 km and enter the SS16 Adriatica. Continue for 15 km and enter Via Annunziata. Turn onto Via San Domenico and Via Sant'Antonio. At the traffic circle take the first exit and enter SP581. After 7 km turn onto Via Gatti/SP581 and continue straight for 700 meters to Via Padula del Cimitero.

How to reach the meeting point by public transportation

From Brindisi station walk to Corso Umberto I and turn onto Via Indipendenza. Here take bus 190 to Ceglie Messapica and get off at the Via Moro stop. Continue walking on Via Aldo Moro and turn right onto Via Amati and Via Catullo. Continue on Via Piave, Via Colombo, Via Bari and Via Venezia to Via Padula del Cimitero.
