About this activity

Are you passionate about enology and would like to learn more about Vesuvius wines? Then don't miss this fun Vesuvian vineyard tour with wine tasting and lunch. This experience allows you to learn about the food and wine traditions of the area, where cuisine, wine and territory come together in a perfect union!
The activity begins by meeting the tour guide who will take you to the entrance of Vesuvius Vineyards. You will be introduced to the volcanic terroir of the area, or the relationship that binds a grape variety to the microclimate and mineral characteristics of the soil in which it is grown. Then you will take a relaxing walk through the vineyards together with experts sommelier, enjoying spectacular views of the Bay of Naples and learning all there is to know about native grape varieties.
Next, you will take a guided tour of a winery of the area to discover the production methods used to create exceptional wines such as the famous Lacryma Christi. After this stage is completed, you will be treated to a good lunch starting with theVesuvius appetizer based on provolone, casatiello, bruschetta with piennolo tomatoes and salami, yours accompanied by Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco DOP, Rosato and Rosso.
Then you will be served a first course of wheat spaghetti topped with piennolo cherry tomato sauce, to be tasted together with Lacryma Christi Riserva. The tasting will conclude with a pastiera napoletana paired with Capafresca Spumante Rosato and Passito Bianco IGT. For lunch, however, options are available to customize for celiacs, vegetarians and vegans.

    How to reach the meeting point by car

    From Piazza Garibaldi in Naples, you can reach Via Panoramica 15 in Trecase by car by taking the A3 Naples-Pompei-Salerno highway, exiting at Torre Annunziata Nord and then following the signs for the Vesuvius Panoramic Highway to Trecase, with a travel time of about 25 minutes depending on traffic.

    How to reach the meeting point by public transportation

    By public transportation there is no direct connection to the winery, but it is possible to take the Circumvesuviana from Naples in the direction of Pompeii or Torre Annunziata and, once there, take the Cantina del Vesuvio's free shuttle service, available by reservation at least three days in advance from the Pompeii Porta Marina or Torre Annunziata Oplonti stations.
