La Borgia Inn is a lovely restaurant located in Torre Annunziata, a stone's throw from the Excavations of Oplontis and a ten-minute drive from those in Pompeii.

Located in the city center, the venue inside evokes the atmosphere and scent of the sea thanks to its cozy decorations. Stop at the inn and visit the excavations of Oplontis

Before or after having lunch or dinner, we also recommend you visit the nearby excavations of Oplontis, of which you can visit the famous Villa of Poppaea. It is thought that this area was once a kind of outlying hamlet of Pompeii, and not a real town in its own right.

The archaeological area includes two villas, of which only the one mentioned above can be visited at present. The villa of Poppea Sabina, Nero's second wife, was recognized. UNESCO heritage site. It is a very large residential facility, also including a spa complex and wonderful frescoes.

Inside the second villa, on the other hand, probably belonging to Lucius Crassius Tertius, large amounts of jewelry and coins were unearthed, as well as the remains of 54 victims who had taken refuge inside the structure during the eruption.

The site is open daily except Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm with last admission at 5:30 pm.
