About this activity

The coast of the Phlegraean area is one of the most beautiful and enchanting places in Campania and to appreciate its marine beauty there is nothing better than a nice dive or a day of snorkelling at Baia Submerged Archaeological Park. With this fantastic experience you can have fun exploring the seabed of Baia Sommersa, full of many ancient finds.

In fact, in Roman times the Phlegraean Fields had a role of great importance for the Empire. Pozzuoli was a thriving commercial city, Baia was a holiday resort for Roman nobles and Miseno hosted the military fleet. The appointment is at port of Baia, where a dinghy will take you to the dive site. Before starting the activity there will be a quick briefing on the history of Baia Sommersa. Then you will be provided with all the necessary equipment to dive.

The excursion does not require a diving license and is also ideal for beginners. There will be a companion to accompany you instructor who will explain everything you need to know in detail. The experience will last approximately 3 hours and children aged 7 and above can also take part.

How to reach the meeting point by car

From Piazza Garibaldi proceed along Corso Novara, Via Nuova Poggioreale, Corso Malta and take the exit for Domitiana/Pozzuoli. Enter E56 and after 19 km take the exit for Pozzuoli/Arco Felice/Bacoli. Take Via Montenuovo Licola Patria and turn right onto Via Miliscola. Continue for 1.5 km and turn left onto Via Montegrillo. After 1 km, enter Via Lucullo and take Via Molo di Baia.

How to reach the meeting point by public transportation

From Piazza Garibaldi, take the EAV Napoli-Monte di Procida bus and get off at the Bacoli - Piazza De Gasperi stop. Then proceed on foot along Via Sella di Baia and Via Lucullo. Finally, turn left and take Via Molo di Baia.
