About this activity

Un comodo bus ti condurrà sulla cima di uno dei vulcani più studiati e conosciuti al mondo: il Vesuvio.

With its now iconic and immediately recognizable shape, Vesuvius has become the symbol of Naples, with the highest peak reaching approximately 1280 metres. As we well know, the historic eruption of 79 AD. is now indelible in our memory as it almost completely destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis and Stabiae.

This excursion will start from Naples with a bus which, depending on your needs, will pick you up at the central station around 9.15 am, and then head towards Torre del Greco where the climb will begin Vesuvius National Park by bus, arriving at an altitude of 1,000 meters.

Dal parcheggio si procede a piedi imboccando un sentiero che ti condurrà sulla cima dell’antico vulcano ancora attivo. Avrai due ore a disposizione per raggiungere la vetta e lungo il percorso potrai incontrare delle guide alle quali chiedere informazioni, se vorrai. In ogni caso, con te ci sarà un esperto in vulcanologia che ti racconterà la geologia del territorio e noterai anche la ricca vegetazione che caratterizza il parco. Una volta arrivato in cima, potrai passeggiare intorno al cratere e fare delle foto ricordo godendo di una vista mozzafiato sull’incantevole baia di Napoli da est a ovest.

From Piazza Garibaldi move onto Corso Lucci, Via Vespucci, Via Marina, Via de Gasperi and Via Depretis. Then turn into Piazza Municipio and take Via Vittorio Emanuele III. At the roundabout take Piazza Trieste e Trento and continue straight until Piazza Plebiscito

How to reach the point of interest by public transportation

From Naples central station, take Metro Line 1 and get off at the Municipio stop. Continue on foot along Via Leoncavallo, Via Santa Brigida, Via Verdi, Via Vittorio Emanuele III and Piazza Trieste e Trento to reach Piazza Plebiscito
