The Father's Day is the holiday on which we celebrate fathers in society and their role in the family. It falls every March 19 because according to tradition it is on this day that St. Joseph, the putative father of Jesus, is said to have died. The cult relating to St. Joseph was widespread as early as the early Middle Ages, but it was from the 14th century that the feast day began to be observed on this day throughout the West.
It was Pope Sixtus IV who included the holiday in the Roman calendar and since 1871 St. Joseph has been proclaimed by the Catholic Church as the patron saint of fathers of families. Father's Day is therefore a unique opportunity to show one's love with gifts and greeting cards. There are also typical sweets for this day such as the zeppole di San Giuseppe, of puff pastry fritters filled with custard and sour cherries. In Rome then St. Joseph's cream puffs are popular, while in Umbria and Tuscany cooked rice fritters are made.
But what to give for Father's Day? Usually we tend to go for classic and timeless gifts such as clothing, perfumes, fashion accessories and technology. However, if you are looking for something different and exclusive, you can rely on Movery. For example, you can choose from a wide selection of walking and other tours, guided museum tours, tastings or more reckless, high-altitude experiences. Here are some ideas to make your day on March 19 unforgettable.

It is one of the most important museum hubs in the city, housing beautiful collections donated to the institution over time. Among the most spectacular are the Farnese Collection, the Egyptian Collection and the Pompeian Collections. Equally unmissable is the tour of the Royal Palace of Naples. The official residence of the Bourbons designed by Vanvitelli consists of splendid rooms full of works of art, and the building also houses the National Library of Naples. Also fascinating is theexcursion to the Castel dell'Ovo which allows you to admire one of the Neapolitan symbols par excellence. The site in the Piedigrotta area houses what legend has it is the burial place of the poet who spent many years of his life in Naples. Finally, art-loving dads cannot miss the Museum of Capodimonte. The palace is part of the Reggia di Capodimonte complex and displays many pieces of modern and contemporary art inside, including works by Caravaggio, Raphael and Andy Warhol.
Sports dad
Instead, for dads who are sports enthusiasts and like to be on the go, we recommend choosing a e-bike ride between the historic center and the waterfront. Riding an electric bicycle you can see some of the most unmissable places in Naples such as Piazza del Gesù, the Maschio Angioino, Castel dell'Ovo, Virgiliano Park and Piazza del Plebiscito. Very entertaining is this tour of Naples by electric scooter which touches on the most beautiful monuments in the historic center. In fact, you can look at Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, Piazza del Gesù, the Santa Chiara monastery, Piazza Dante, Galleria Umberto, Via Caracciolo and Piazza del Plebiscito. For those who prefer to explore Campania's capital city with less effort there is this minibus tour of Naples in the historic center. The walk begins at the Cathedral of Naples and then moves on to the Basilica of Santa Restituta, the Maschio Angioino, Piazza del Plebiscito, Galleria Umberto I, and the church of Sant'Antonio in Posillipo. Finally, we suggest you opt for a scenic Vespa tour, ideal for whizzing through Neapolitan alleys with an audio guide who will explain the most important places. Departure on the Vespa is scheduled from Piazza Municipio and from here it will cross Borgo Santa Lucia, the Caracciolo waterfront, Mergellina, Via Orazio, Via Petrarca and Piazza Vittoria.

This Amalfi Coast hiking trail winds between Maiori and Minori through a landscape composed of fragrant lemon trees and quaint houses. Here you can enjoy a fantastic organic lunch at a local agriturismo. Alternatively, you can choose this Ape Calessino ride with tasting at dairy in Paestum. Aboard a bee car, we will depart from Agropoli to visit one of the best dairy farms in the Cilento region. The stables will be admired and the various stages of milking, preparation and storage of dairy products will be explained. Then there will be a tasting of mozzarella freshly prepared by the master cheesemakers. To taste the delicacies of Campania you can also select a full day tour in Gragnano to discover pasta. In particular, there will be a visit to a Gragnano pasta factory to learn all there is to know about the art of pasta making. Next, there will be a walk to the Valley of the Mills and you can eat at a typical restaurant in the area. To surprise your dad, you can give him a cooking class on pizza in Naples. The educational workshop will teach how to prepare Neapolitan pizza dough and bake it in a wood-fired oven. After baking, you will be able to taste the pizzas prepared with your own hands.
Adventurous dad
Is your dad a brave guy who loves extreme challenges? Then here are some of the Movery experiences for adventurous dads. To begin with, we offer you a parachute jump at Castel Volturno. The high-altitude launch is for two people, and a trained instructor will explain to participants what to do during the descent and how to land without getting hurt. In addition, the operator participating in the launch will shoot a video as a memento of the day. Another high-adrenaline activity is the zipline flight in Cilento. Once wearing the special harness you will move hanging along a cable suspended in the air. During the flight you will be able to see the Amalfi Coast, the Gulf of Salerno and Paestum in the distance. To make your father happy, we also suggest this hot air balloon flight over Paestum. The tour begins near the archaeological area of Paestum, and after a briefing we will set off on an approximately 45-minute excursion to see the temples of Paestum and the Gulf of Salerno from above.
