September has now arrived and in Campania there are plenty of spectacular places to visit with friends and family for a mini-vacation of fun and culture. A land rich in art and ancient monuments, the region offers a world of opportunities for a unique and unforgettable trip. We at Movery have therefore come up with a small 4-day itinerary among some of the most beautiful and evocative places in Campania.
Day 1: Naples
To kick off your 4-day trip you can start in the capital of Campania, a must-see destination for culture and art enthusiasts. After having a nice Neapolitan coffee and a sfogliatella, in the morning we suggest you take a guided tour of the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. It is one of the most important museum hubs in the city, and with this 2-hour excursion you will be able to see the Pompeian collections, the Egyptian collection and the Farnese collection, which are composed of priceless artifacts and works of art.
In the afternoon, however, you can continue with a nice walking tour of downtown Naples with admission ticket to Sansevero Chapel which allows you to immerse yourself in the most authentic and mystical heart of the city. The walk starts from Via Duomo and then continues along Via dei Tribunali, Piazza San Gaetano and San Gregorio Armeno. You will then reach Spaccanapoli and St. Dominic's Square, finally arriving at the Sansevero Chapel, inside which you will see the famous Veiled Christ in all its beauty. In the evening then we suggest you stop at one of the restaurants in the historic center to enjoy a nice pizza and the best dishes of Neapolitan cuisine.
Day 2: Pompeii
On the second day in the morning you can take the opportunity to make a guided tour of the Pompeii excavations with skip-the-line ticket. The ticket for this experience includes pickup at an agreed upon point and subsequent transfer to the archaeological site. Upon entering the excavations you will have a chance to explore the remains of the ancient city buried by theVesuvian eruption of 79 A.D. together with an expert guide who will show you the domus, the forum, and much more.
In the afternoon, on the other hand, don't miss a Vesuvius tour with transfer from Naples and entrance fee included. The activity kicks off from Naples aboard a bus that will take you to Torre del Greco to begin the ascent to the Vesuvius National Park. At 1,000 meters you will walk to the top of the dormant volcano, whose geology and local flora you will learn about. At the summit you will observe the spectacular landscape of the crater and the Bay of Naples.

Day 3: Caserta
Another special destination is undoubtedly Caserta, and in this case the advice is to spend the morning in the area by buying a tour of the Royal Palace of Caserta departing by train from Naples. The excursion provides you with round-trip tickets for the train and priority admission to the museum. It starts in the morning, leaving from Naples Central Station, then arriving at the Palace. When you reach your destination you can independently visit the gardens, the New Apartments, the Palatine Chapel and much more.
Having concluded the tour in the Vanvitellian residence, in the afternoon you can opt for a nice walk in the heart of the hamlet of Old Caserta. Here you will have the opportunity to see the Castle, the Hawk Tower, the Annunziata Church, Bishop's Square, the Cathedral and the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel. Today the village is the cultural center of the city and hosts many musical, theatrical and literary events every year.
Day 4: Cilento
For your fourth and final day of your Movery-branded trip, you can move to the Cilento region and in the morning you can take a visit to the Paestum excavations with train departure from Naples and entrance fee. Located in the municipality of Capaccio-Paestum, it has been a UNESCO heritage site since 1998 and here you can admire three Greek temples dating back to the 6th and 5th centuries BC. The tour starts in the morning from the Naples train station and then travels to the archaeological site.
After having lunch at one of the typical restaurants in the area, don't miss a Paestum Temples tour with DOP mozzarella cheese tasting. It begins at the Paestum Museum, which houses a vast collection of artifacts, including the famous Tomb of the Diver. Then you will move on to the archaeological site of Paestum to admire its magnificent temples. Once the visit is over, there will be room for a tour of a dairy a short distance away, where you will taste the fresh mozzarella and other local products.
