Naples is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in Italy, both among domestic and foreign tourists. Certifying this are the numbers recorded in the city between April 25 and May 1, when there were as many as 400,000 visitors happy to learn about the local beauty and enjoy an unparalleled historical and artistic heritage.

The rise of Naples in terms of tourism is not surprising, considering the great initiatives put in place to attract tourists and introduce one of Italy's most spectacular locations to an ever-growing public. In fact, from being a hit-and-run stop Naples has been transformed into a real tourist destination, in which to spend even more than a day. Testifying to this are the numbers of beds occupied in hotel facilities, which for the May 1 bridge were sold out. So why not visit the Neapolitan capital and immerse yourself in its culture?

One of the most anticipated events of spring is undoubtedly the May of Monuments, a festival that allows tourists to admire the city's main sights. The event, now in its 30th year, will run from May 3 to June 2, 2024 and is dedicated to the theme "The waters of Naples". The program is extremely rich and includes about 300 events including shows, workshops, meetings, special openings, performances and an exhibition divided into five sections scattered in various parts of Naples.

Beyond May of Monuments you can also take advantage of one of the many tourist experiences and activities offered by Movery. For starters, you can book this tour in the center of Naples by minivan. The tour begins at the Cathedral of Naples, where you will see the beautiful Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro. You will then move on to the Basilica of Santa Restituta and the Maschio Angioino, and then to the Church of Sant'Antonio in Posillipo, Piazza del Plebiscito, and the Galleria Umberto.

Equally unmissable is a guided tour of the Royal Palace of Naples. The royal residence stands right on Piazza del Plebiscito and was one of the official seats of the Bourbon family. Inside you can see the Museo dell'Appartamento Storico with its elegant and finely decorated rooms, and the palace is also home to the National Library of Naples.

If, on the other hand, you are in Naples for a short time, we suggest this Excursion to Pompeii with lunch break and visit to Vesuvius. The experience begins with a tour of Pompeii's excavations to admire its domus, Forum, baths and more. Concluding this phase, there will be a quick pizza lunch, and then depart in the direction of the Vesuvius National Park. Here you will reach the summit of the volcano to get a close-up view of the crater and the entire Bay of Naples from above.

Particularly interesting is then the tour to the archaeological excavations of Herculaneum. The site has been a UNESCO heritage site since 1997, and its discovery dates back to the 18th century. Since then, a large number of artifacts have been unearthed, which are now preserved at the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. Within the excavations there are many things to see, such as the Forum Baths, the Samnite House, the House of the Relief of Telefo, the Villa of the Papyri and the Fornici.

However, those who are in Naples cannot miss a guided tour of the Royal Palace of Caserta. Built to a design by architect Vanvitelli in the 18th century, the palace was erected at the behest of King Charles of Bourbon to compete with the famous Palace of Versailles. Today the building is world-renowned for the beauty of its gardens with gushing fountains and the magnificence of its interior halls. Truly stunning are the Royal Court Theater, the Royal Apartments and the Palatine Chapel.

Movery then also offers you aguided excursion to the Charterhouse of San Martino, the 14th-century monastic complex located in Vomero. An example of Baroque art, the structure features a church that is not open to the public and a museum divided on two levels. Inside the Carthusian monastery you will be able to see the Hall of the Carriages, the Nativity Hall with the famous Cuciniello Crib and the Ottocento Gallery. Externally, on the other hand, the cloister and gardens that extend toward the Vomero hill can be visited.

In Naples then you can't miss a trip to the National Museum of Capodimonte. The institution is housed in an elegant palace on the hill of Capodimonte and since the 18th century has been hosting works by important modern and contemporary art authors in its rooms, including Caravaggio, Titian, Parmigianino, Raphael, Warhol and many others.

To learn about the true essence of Neapolitan tradition and culture, we also recommend this guided tour of Naples Underground. The experience takes place at the Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore in San Gaetano Square. From this area you can access the underground route that allows you to explore the ancient remains of a macellum, the Roman marketplace and the forum with its craft stores.

If you are lucky enough to be in Naples, you can also purchase tickets for this visit to the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro. You will have the opportunity to view the splendor of Naples Cathedral and the Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro, which houses jewels of immense value, including the jeweled mitre, necklace and bust of San Gennaro.

To top it off, with Movery you have the opportunity to experience the spirit of the city thanks to a half-day tour of the historic center. The walk begins at San Gregorio Armeno, the street of nativity scenes, and on foot you will move to Via dei Tribunali and the Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore. Then you will arrive at the Naples Cathedral and after seeing the Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro you will reach Spaccanapoli, Palazzo Venezia, Piazza del Gesù and the Monastery of Santa Chiara.
